Pastor Profile
The pastor of Greenville United Methodist Church is the Rev. Dr. Diana DeWitt. Pastor Diana grew up as a part of an Iowa farm family, but has lived most of her adult years in the South. After spending the early years of her children’s lives as a stay-at-home mother, she then taught school for five years before answering God’s call into pastoral ministry.
Pastor Diana received her undergraduate degree from MTSU, and holds a Master of Education and a Master of Divinity, both from Vanderbilt University. She received her Doctor of Ministry from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio, in the area of Transformational Leadership. While there she was selected into the Pastors of Excellence program, being one of eighty pastors from across North America.
Pastor Diana is an ordained elder in the Tennessee Conference of the UMC. She has served Wartrace UMC and Mt. Olivet UMC, Murfreesboro 1st UMC, Nolensville 1st UMC, and Hermitage UMC. At the Conference level she has served in the areas of Evangelism and Worship. As the chairperson of the Conference Worship team, she held responsibility for leading the planning of worship for the Tennessee Annual Conference for four years. As a result of her conference work in the area of Evangelism, she was selected to be a part of the Order of the Flame through World Methodist Evangelism
Pastor Diana's daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jimmy Bush, and their children, Camden, Kaia, and Layna, live in Lexington, Kentucky Her son, Steven Hough, and his wife, Kelly, live in Madison, Alabama.
